EyePrintPro™
Eye Print Prosthetics is now exclusively available to your patients locally within Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Dr. Jonathan Andrews, an Optometrist at Optometric Associates in New Holland, PA, is a certified practitioner for the entire suite of Eye Print Prosthetic devices including EyePrintPRO, EyeFitPRO, ScanFitPRO, and EyePrintGP devices.
Eye Print Prosthetics uses impression-based technology to accommodate the most eccentric topographical maps including both the cornea and sclera (up to 24mm in diameter). Using impression-based technology, an EyePrintPRO prosthetic lens can achieve amazing comfort and unrivaled vision for all types of patients.
Candidates for the EyePrintPro Prosthetic Devices are those who have had an extensive history with ocular complications and surgeries including mild to severe keratoconus with or without hydrops, corneal transplants, pterygium repair and/or recurrence, pinguecula, active or past neurotropic disease, post-radial-keratometry, scleral patch grafts, graft vs host disease, extreme cases of dry eye or nerve disease, and even post bleb patients.
Patients who are not a good candidate are those who are in an active disease state (i.e. a current infectious bacterial corneal ulcer) or patients who have over-hanging blebs. Eye Print Prosthetic Devices offer hope and help to patients who truly have no visual options left.
Optically speaking, Eye Print Devices can accommodate mild to severe prescriptions including high minus, high plus, irregular astigmatism, multifocals, and prism in ANY direction (up to 4 prism diopters per eye). Being that these lenses are designed from direct impressions taken from the eye itself, the device locks into the unique scleral toricity allowing designers to install custom and precise optics that never rotate.

EYE PRINT GP
HIGHLY CUSTOMIZED WAVEFRONT CORRECTED GAS PERMEABLE CONTACT LENSES DERIVED FROM PENTACAM HR DATA
A key feature of EyePrintPRO Devices is the ability to decouple the back surface optics from the front. This means that we have the ability to move the optics to accommodate severely steepened inferiorly centered kone apexes. This helps to address common Higher Order Aberrations (HAO) including Coma and Trefoil. This custom feature can significantly improve visual complaints when compared to traditional scleral lens and corneal lens technology.
EyePrintPRO can literally be used for any type of eye shape or ocular condition. The thinnest corneal kone apex the company was able to impress AND successfully fit was 39um. The impression technology (known as Polyvinyl Siloxane or PVS) is extremely gentle to the ocular surface and does not require anesthesia. This specific PVS has been FDA approved for ocular application in contrast to the same material for dental procedures. EyePrintPRO devices are made from Contamac materials (Dk 100-200) and all come standard with a Tangible Hydra-PEG coating.
EyePrintPRO is a life changing technology for patients who have had limited success with surgeries, ocular surface disease, and conventional contact lenses. Some medical insurances may contribute toward the costs of the prosthetic device and the impression itself, but an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) and full payment is required before proceeding with any impression. Please keep EyePrintPRO, EyeFitPRO, ScanFitPRO, and EyePrintGP in mind for front line treatment of your patients suffering from an array of ocular surface diseases, keratoconus (any stage), post corneal transplants, scleral patch grafts, pinguecula or pterygiums, diplopia, post radial keratometry, Stevens’ Johnson Syndrome, and many other conditions. — Jonathan D. Andrews, O.D., F.A.A.O, New Holland, PA

The designing of each unique EyePrintPRO Device occurs on advanced computer software after laser scanning of the ocular impression is complete. This particular design includes decentered and decoupled posterior optics for the inferior orientation of this kone. Of note, you can see this design is also incorporating the pinguecula on the nasal conjunctiva.

CASE STUDIES

EyePrintPRO is the ONLY device in which the front and back optic zones can be moved
independently of each other

45 year old patient with pinguecula and ocular surface disease. Old scleral on left with notching. New EyePrintPRO on right. Pinguecula entirely resolved 3 years later.
Ocular Surface Disease requires NO medical treatment.

23 year old patient with Steven’s Johnson Syndrome. Old scleral on left with notching and scleral granulomas. New EyePrintPRO on right. Granulomas resolved one year later, Ocular Surface is beautiful even in presence of Steven’s Johnson Syndrome.
