Our well-established, family-owned, and operated private practice, Optometric Associates, has been serving the New Holland, Pennsylvania community for 44 years with a strong record of continuous growth. We are currently seeking a dedicated optometrist with expertise in medical optometry to join our team! If you are passionate about providing exceptional patient care in a thriving private practice, we would love to hear from you.

What You’ll Need:

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree (or pending).
  • Valid PA state license to practice optometry (or pending).
  • Proficiency in understanding insurance billing basics (we can help
    train this with our tried and true billing techniques).
  • Highly proficient in medical management specific to optometry and
    ophthalmology.
  • Personable, compassionate individual who can bring a positive attitude and personality to our office environment.

What You’ll Do:

As an optometrist in our practice, you will be able to practice to the fullest scope of your license. You can look forward to exciting day to day interactions with patients, including:

  • Comprehensive dilated eye care, routine examinations, refractions, and contact lenses
  • Urgent eye care! Same-day appointments for farming and manufacturing ocular injuries
  • Foreign body removals including rust ring (daily)
  • Prokera® amniotic membrane treatment
  • Fitting custom soft and custom rigid gas permeable contact lenses and scleral contact lenses
  • Meibomian gland analysis and treatment with industry leaders iLux® and Lipiflow®
  • Management and treatment of advanced dry eye, ocular surface disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma (as well as surgical co-management), diabetic eye care, and amblyopia
  • Keratoconus including cross linking surgery co-management.
  • Vision therapy
  • Myopia management (Paragon®, WAVE® Night Lens, MiSight®, among others)
  • Analysis of fundus photography, visual fields, Pentacam® HR Tomography, Cirrus OCTa 5000, a-scan ultrasonography with IOL master, and meibography analysis
  • LASIK/PRK consultations, referrals for same day procedures
  • Day-1 surgical post-op care for refractive surgery, cross linking, & cataracts
  • Anterior segment photography/videography
  • Shared on-call responsibilities one weekend per month (we rarely get called in)
  • Occasional community outreach programs 2-3 times per year (nocost community eye screenings, retirement home visits, open house at practice)

Schedule & Compensation:

We value work-life balance which means whether you’re working parttime (20-30 hours per week) or full-time (30-40 hours per week) you won’t be scheduled to work weekends. We can condense your schedule to a 4 day work week to always have 3 day weekend – an amazing way to practice optometry. We offer competitive wages and benefit packages for full-time employees including:

  • Salary range starting at $70.00 per hour to $110.00 per hour
